Gotham City racing Mike Ashley

Gotham City Racing was founded in 2000 by two-time NHRA Pro Modified World Champion Mike Ashley. Originally known as the “Kid from Long Island,” Mike started his racing career in the late 1980’s, and after reaching the pinnacle of his career in Pro Modified, graduated into the NHRA professional ranks of Funny Car in September 2005.

At the end of 2006, after his first full season piloting a nitro Funny Car under the Worsham and Schumacher umbrellas, Mike formed his own Funny Car operation and took on the role of team owner and driver. Ashley finished 2007 as No. 6 in POWERade Funny Car rankings, leaving wake of record-breaking performances, including recording the fastest Funny Car speed ever at 334.32 MPH.

In January 2008, entrepreneur and race enthusiast Roger Burgess joined Mike as co-owner, and together they formed Gotham City Racing LLC. Mike and Roger share the same vision for the continued growth of the team into an organization determined to set the standard within the drag race industry, from on the track performance to marketing and sponsor activation.
